Petrochemical analysis was one of the first NIR process applications implemented and the real-time feedback from blending monitoring has proven huge economical savings for the industry. All properties can be measured in less than 1 minute.
Some gasoline parameters measured with NIR: research octane (ASTM D-2699), motor octane (ASTM D2700), road octane (R+M)/2, aromatics volume% (GC-PIANO), olefins volume% (GC-PIANO), benzene volume% (GC_PIANO), T10, T50 and T90.
Common Diesel parameters measured with NIR include: specific gravity, D 50%, 90%, 95% (D86), viscosity, flash point, CFPP, pour point and cloud point.
